I’m Torn Between Houses: My Results from Pottermore’s New Sorting Hat Quiz

There have been lots of discussions online lately about Harry Potter lovers trying Pottermore’s refreshed Sorting Hat Quiz and finding themselves assigned to a different house. I wanted to investigate this for myself and decided to redo the quiz as well. My results were confusing, to say the least. I don’t where I belong.

The quiz questions are the same as they were on the old site, but have now been beautifully illustrated, see some screenshots below:

When the first Sorting Hat Quiz came out in 2011 I did it and got assigned to Gryffindor. Then about 11 weeks back I was curious and did a different quiz that claimed to contain all the possible questions (found this on gotoquiz.com). I was sorted into Gryffindor again, with 84% of my answers aligning with this house, 46% Ravenclaw, 40% Slytherin and 34% Hufflepuff.

Today’s Results

Today I experimented with the new & improved  Sorting Hat Quiz. I say ‘experiment’ because I tested it three times. Each time using a different email because once you do it you cannot go back and try again under the same email. Each round I got 4 to 5 of same core questions (e.g. what pet would you choose) and then a few additional ones that changed each time I did the quiz. I answered each of the questions honestly and did not change my answers to the core questions. This yielded three different results:

HogwartsHouses

Needless to say, I am left feeling confused and not sure which house I would be best suited for. Also, I do not understand how in Round 1 I could get Hufflepuff, then in Round 3 get Slytherin — these just seem to be opposite ends of the spectrum to me.

What do you think of my experiment and results? Have you taken the new Sorting Hat Quiz, and if so, what house were you sorted into?
